Kaohsiung Central Park

Location & transport Hours & access checks
Park, station and different addresses
The city park page lists Lane 5, Wenheng 1st Road (文橫一路5巷), Xinxing District. The Maps snapshot lists No.11, Zhongshan 1st Road, Cianjin District. The latter is also the station address in the city’s MRT attraction page; it is not evidence of one exclusive park entrance or the park boundary.
City park page map-link coordinates:22.6242,120.30185, a published reference point, not an entrance surveyed for this review. Confirm an actual exit or street corner and the available route before sharing a meeting or pickup location.
Maps and finding your way
The map opens a third-party website. This site does not embed Google Maps or request your device location. Navigation may omit construction, stairs, event closures or changes to paths.
The city’s park introduction places Urban Spotlight Arcade to the south and Kaohsiung Literature Library and Lee Yung-ko Memorial Library to the north. Each destination has its own entrances and operating arrangements.
MRT R9, parking and transport
Central Park is station R9 on Kaohsiung MRT’s Red Line. Use the operator’s linked station page for current plans, lifts, exits and timetables. Station operating hours are separate from park access.
The city’s older station tourism page associates No.11 Zhongshan 1st Road with Exit 1. For a wheelchair, stroller or luggage, confirm the operator’s current station plan and lift status; do not assume Exit 1 provides an entirely step-free route.
Bus services, parking charges, spaces and charging facilities can change. This guide does not publish unverified route numbers or rates or promise available parking. Check official city transport and parking services before travelling; park access does not establish free parking.

Hours, charges and events today
The city tourism park page, marked updated 2023-11-29, lists 00:00–23:59 daily. Maps also displayed 24-hour access in the 2026-10-29 snapshot. These are source listings, not a fresh inspection confirming every entrance or facility operates around the clock.
A current uniform admission notice was not verified, so year-round free access is not presented as an official guarantee. Events, parking and neighbouring venues may have charges. Local closures, construction, typhoons and event restrictions take precedence.
No current daily water-show, market or performance schedule has been verified here. Check dated city event announcements and the organiser. A water feature is not permission to enter the water; an all-day listing does not guarantee lighting, supervision or safety after dark.
Landscape features versus current operation
The city introduction describes an artificial lake, garden maze, water square and speech square. These provide background about park spaces, without confirming daily shows or current availability of the maze, playgrounds, toilets, drinking water or washing facilities.
The city describes Richard Rogers’s station design with a white canopy and yellow supports, evoking flight. This is station architecture, not a park foundation date.
Southern arcade and northern reading spaces
Urban Spotlight Arcade has a separate city attraction listing. The park page places it to the south and mentions its 2001 opening as history. Current lighting, food outlets, tenants and arts events require separate checks.
The park page names Kaohsiung Literature Library and Lee Yung-ko Memorial Library to the north. Library closures, entry rules and exhibitions differ from park access. No unmeasured guaranteed short walk or unrelated station photograph is used as destination evidence.
Shade, rainwater and the city
Tree canopies provide shade; vegetation and surface water participate in the urban water cycle. Cooling depends on sunlight, wind, humidity and site conditions. This guide has no park microclimate measurements; a regional forecast cannot describe every path’s thermal comfort or standing water.
Observe plants and birds from open paths without feeding or disturbing wildlife or entering ponds. No recent ecological survey was verified, so particular species, native-vegetation ratios or animal numbers are not guaranteed.
Checks before visiting
Choose an actual meeting point and return station, then fit the park and neighbouring spaces to your own pace. Suggested planning is not an accessibility inspection. For wheelchair access, confirm lifts, ramps and temporary restrictions with the operator and destination.
Bring drinking water, sun protection and rainwear. Check Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration warnings and city notices during thunderstorms or typhoons. Trees are not lightning shelters; respect barriers, slow down on wet surfaces and turn back when necessary.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Kaohsiung Central Park?
The city park page lists Lane 5, Wenheng 1st Road, Xinxing District. Maps lists No.11 Zhongshan 1st Road, also the MRT station address. Different reference points do not establish a single entrance. The city page map-link coordinates 22.6242,120.30185 are a published reference point, not a surveyed entrance.
Are the park and MRT R9 the same place?
The park is an urban green space; R9 is the MRT station serving it. Confirm the station address, exits and train times with Kaohsiung MRT rather than applying them to park facilities.
Is it open 24 hours and free?
The city tourism page marked updated 2023-11-29 lists 00:00–23:59 daily, and Maps displayed 24 hours on 2026-10-29. A current uniform admission notice and round-the-clock availability of every facility were not verified. Events and parking may cost extra, and nighttime safety is not guaranteed.
Is there a water show or performance today?
No verified current daily schedule is provided. A city description of the water square does not establish regular performances. Check the organiser and recent city tourism announcements.
Is it suitable for wheelchairs or strollers?
Maps lists an accessible entrance, but this is not our site inspection. Use current station plans, lift status and open routes; not every path or exit is guaranteed suitable.
Are the pictures current photographs?
The current visual is an original conceptual illustration, not a photograph or exact map. Earlier photos lacked individually verifiable provenance and complete rights evidence and have been removed from current public assets. Their removal does not establish photographic or subject-rights clearance.
